Brolly's foul-mouthed rant about executive

GAA pundit Joe Brolly has launched a foul-mouthed attack on the Stormont government.

The Derry barrister castigated the Sinn Fein and DUP administration for not enacting legislation to support his organ-donation campaign. "We've a legislature with no legislation... it's time to move on," he told an RTE chat show.

Brolly criticised the tribal nature of the north's "fledgling democracy" and called on Martin McGuinness and Peter Robinson to "get some f***ing perspective" over their failure to implement organ-donation legislation in the wake of the flags issue.

Brolly revealed that he did not always vote for Sinn Fein, despite both his parents being leading party members. "I used to vote for the Women's Coalition and then they were hounded out of business," he told The Saturday Night Show host Brendan O'Connor. The All-Ireland winner once again defended the right of his hometown club to be named after hunger striker Kevin Lynch. "You've got to go out of your way to find that offensive," Mr Brolly said. "The club was named 30 years ago."
