BEST-SELLING author tom Clancy, pictured, whose story about an IRA attack on London was turned into a movie, has died in the US, aged 66. Among Clancy's top sellers were 'Patriot Games', 'the Hunt for Red october' and 'Clear and Present Danger.' He was born in Baltimore in 1947 and studied physics at college before switching to english. His novels were hugely popular, with his publisher estimating worldwide sales top 100 million copies.
