Undertones join festival line-up

DERRY punk band The Undertones have been added to the Tennent's Vital festival line-up this year. They will perform at Boucher Road Playing Fields in south Belfast on Wednesday August 14 in the same year they mark the 35th anniversary of the release of their debut single, Teenage Kicks.

The band, which plays without original frontman Feargal Sharkey, will feature in a line-up which already includes headliners the Kings of Leon and The Vaccines. Dublin rockers The Minutes have also been added to the first day's line-up. Event organisers also announced yesterday that rapper/songwriter/producer Naughty Boy had been added to the festival line-up for the third day on Friday August 16, which also features Avicii, Tinie Tempah, Rudimental and Tommy Trash. The line-up for the second day, Thursday August 15, includes Snow Patrol, Jason Mraz, Kodaline and Foy Vance. It is the first time the event has taken place over three days. Organisers announced yesterday that gates to the events would open at 4.30pm each day. Tickets for Tennent's Vital are on sale now from Ticketmaster.
