Loyalist caught assaulting man marches again

A LOYALIST bandsman caught on camera assaulting a nationalist observer at an Orange parade past a Catholic church on the Twelfth last year has marched in this year's demonstrations.

William Bell, who confronted JJ Magee outside St Patrick's Church in central Belfast last year, was pictured marching past the church again yesterday.

Bell - of Fifth Street, off Belfast's Shankill Road - waved a stick at Mr Magee who was filming the Shankill Road-based YCV band marching in circles and playing the sectarian Famine Song outside the church doors. He pleaded guilty to common as-sault at Belfast Magistrates Court in March and was bound over to keep the peace for 12 months and fined £500.
