GOLDEN GIRL: International athletes took to the field yesterday at the Mary Peters Track on Belfast's Malone Road to celebrate its £3 million refurbishment which allows it to meet the highest international standards for sports tracks. To mark the occasion Lord Mayor Martin O Muilleoir and Lord Coe, pictured, unveiled a bronze statue of Northern Ireland's golden girl Dame Mary Peters, which will overlook the track named in her honour following her Gold Medal in the heptathlon at the Munich Olympics in 1972
