Bryson is legal adviser to fellow flag protester

JamIe Bryson is to act as an official legal adviser to fellow flag protester Jim Dowson.

Dowson, a former fundraiser for the British National Party, told a magistrate yesterday he was discharging his legal team and would be representing himself, with 23-year-old mr Bryson providing advice.

The pair arrived at court wearing suits and carrying legal papers.

They have been charged in separate cases with a range of offences connected to the Union flag protests. as an official legal adviser mr Bryson will now be able to sit on the bench with mr Dowson (48) during court appearances and give advice on questions to be put to witnesses.

The Co Down loyalist was last week denied a change to his own strict bail conditions to attend a remembrance service next monday with his band the Bangor Protestant Boys.
