Fortnite maker Epic Games has been sending cryptic tweets that appear to hint at an in-game event called “Fortnitemares” to tie in with Halloween.
Images posted in two tweets appear to tease a new character skin alongside the famous Fortnite cube.

The two images are accompanied by short rhymes that appear to suggest an event could be on the way.
“Costumes and dancing, Partner up, be wise. They could be friendly, Or a ghoul in disguise,” the first of the messages reads, ending with the hashtag “Fortnitemares”.
Fortnite is no stranger to large-scale public events taking place for all players within the game – having previously staged a live rocket launch among other set pieces.
A range of other Halloween-themed skins and gear is being steadily rolled out in the battle royale game as the spooky holiday approaches, but #Fortnitemares appears to be a large-scale event at the heart of the festivities.
