Actor Sean Bean is to bring his unique ability to die gloriously on-screen to video games, after he was revealed as the focus of the first Elusive Target mission in the upcoming Hitman 2 game.

Bean will play Mark Faba, a freelance assassin so good at faking his own death he’s picked up the nickname The Undying. The aim of the mission for players will be to take out Faba for good.

The game, which is out in November on PlayStation, Xbox and PC, will again see players take on the role of Agent 47 and his mission to eliminate the “elusive Shadow Client and unravel his militia”.

Bean appears to be at least a cog in that machine, and it will be down to players to take him out – hopefully with a trademark Bean death scene to add to the collection.

It won’t be the Lord Of The Rings and Game Of Thrones star’s first video game death – after playing villain Alec Trevelyan in 1995 Bond film GoldenEye, his character was recreated for the iconic Nintendo 64 game based on the film – and like in the film, he ultimately meets his end thanks to 007.
