Any Fortnite player will know that hearing your opponents approaching makes all the difference, and Epic Games wants to make it a little easier to hear someone lurking behind you.

The developer has revealed plans to add better spatial audio, by not only improving the sound of footsteps but also when someone nearby is using a glider.

“Due to the chaotic nature of the game, sometimes important cues fail to play or are lost in the mix,” Epic Games said.

“We’re working on identifying and fixing cases where this occurs.”

In the upcoming Season 6 of Fortnite, there will be more high frequency audio content to help you pinpoint other player’s location.

Meanwhile, anyone who flies over you on a glider will create a similar effect to a car passing by, so you know that someone is getting closer from above.

“This will provide additional tactical information and reduce cases where a player launches behind you without you knowing it,” Epic Games added.

Season 6 of the popular co-op game is expected to arrive within the next few weeks.
