A new Assassin’s Creed game has been confirmed, with the open world stealth game looking set to head to ancient Greece for its next adventure.

Developer Ubisoft has tweeted a short teaser of the game, appearing to show two soldiers – one of whom is promptly kicked off a cliff by the other – wearing Greek armour.

Further evidence of the apparent setting can be seen in the game’s logo revealed at the end of the clip, which looks like a Corinthian helmet, worn by Greek soldiers of that era.

The series has covered a wide range of historical eras in previous games, including ancient Egypt, the Crusades and revolutionary America.

Alongside the teaser, Ubisoft has promised to unveil more about the game at the E3 gaming convention later this month in Los Angeles.

The company is holding a press conference on June 11 ahead of the convention opening, where Assassin’s Creed looks likely to feature heavily.
