Google Assistant can now open your personal Netflix profile with just your voice

Google has expanded the voice-matching feature in its Google Assistant to support personal Netflix profiles.

The Voice Match feature built into the smart assistant is already able to identify individual users when it hears the wake phrase “Hey Google” on a connected device – a Google Home for example.

But now users on a multiple profile Netflix account will be able to ask to open streaming service on their TV and see their own personal profile appear, exactly where they left off with the binge-watching.

The feature is already in use on Google Home to enable different users to get personalised information and schedules when each individual asks, but this is a notable expansion of the feature to a popular third-party service.

Voice Match on Google Assistant can support up to six different voice profiles.

The feature can be set up by going to the More Settings section of the Google Home app and selecting Videos and Photos. From there you can link your Netflix profile to your Google Assistant account.
