If you can’t decide which Porsche to buy, this app may just be the answer.
The German supercar giant is testing a subscription service which allows users to drive a Porsche of their choosing on demand, switching between up to 22 models as and when they choose.
So if you fancy driving a 911 Carrera one day and a Cayenne SUV the next, this is the service you’ve been waiting for.
There’s just one stumbling block – it doesn’t come cheap.
The cheapest of two membership plans, called Launch, comes for a not inconsiderable monthly subscription fee of $2,000 (£1,500).
That provides access to eight models, including the 718 Boxster and Cayman S, but subscribers to the $3,000 (£2,300) Accelerate plan can choose from 22 vehicles, including the 911 Carrera S and the Panamera 4S.
You get vehicle tax and registration, insurance and maintenance included – as well as unlimited mileage – though both plans also require a one-time $500 (£380) “activation fee”.
An irresistible deal to Porsche superfans, surely?
The service is delivered through the Porsche Passport app, developed by Clutch Technologies, which allows subscribers to request same-day or future delivery to their chosen location.
The service is to be trialled in Atlanta, Georgia, next month. Porsche fans elsewhere will have to keep their fingers crossed for a wider rollout soon.
