It’s been dubbed the “eye-strain Twitter font” that “no-one wanted or needed”.
But the social media site has continued the roll-out of its new desktop font despite a backlash from users.
While some people first saw the font in May, it’s a new addition for many logging on in the last 24 hours.
And it’s not an altogether positive reaction from users who have a list of wants from the site which come way ahead of a new font.
Users: "Stop shadowbanning, throttling, and suspending us over political disagreement!Twitter: ✨"Here, have a new font!"✨
🙄
"Did Twitter"

Dear Twitter: Thank you for this new font. It is lovely, and unnecessary. Now please give us the editing function we all actually want.

Everybody: "Let us be able to edit tweets."

The main complaint is the size of the font, which people say makes it tricky to read.
Dear Twitter. This new twitter font is hard to read. Just in case you could not see what I wrote … NEW TWITTER FONT IS HARD TO READ

Is #Twitter trying to save ink with this new font?
— Rob Waller (@Waller_Rob) August 2, 2017
Just last month, Twitter reported a revenue drop and a slowdown in user growth in its latest financial results. The number of people using the service remains at 328 million for the second quarter in succession.
But it seems some of those users are fans of the font change.
i can't tell if i broke twitter or if the site just switched to a new font. they wouldn't use a font this good on purpose, would they?
