New Pokemon games are coming to the Nintendo Switch and 3DS – although perhaps not the ones fans were hoping for.
Nintendo announced Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, new versions of the games which came out last year, would be released for the 3DS on November 17.
The company’s newest console, the Switch, is also getting a game from the franchise – Pokken Tournament DX.

Details were kept to a minimum in the announcement, but Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will feature new storylines and new Pokemon.Fighting game Pokken Tournament, meanwhile, was previously a Wii-U game and will be re-released on Switch, joining the likes of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. We can expect to find out more when gaming convention E3 kicks off on June 13, but a number of fans have already expressed disappointment that there’s still no movement on the much-rumoured Pokemon Stars – said to be a Nintendo Switch revamp of Sun and Moon – or a relaunch of some of the more classic games.
"Pls buy Pokémon Sun and Moon again on the same platform 12 months later" isn't a great proposition tbh

There is some hope though, with Gameboy classics Pokemon Gold and Silver being released on the 3DS on September 22 – the same day as Pokemon Tournament becomes available for the Switch.

The rest will just have to see if Nintendo has saved any big announcements for E3.
