Joto is a whiteboard with a difference – it connects to your phone to recreate type, hand-drawn scribbles and full-blown art with its robotic arm.
The £165 board includes a pen that automatically draws anything sent to it from a specially designed app on your phone.
The retro invention also wipes itself clean when you’re ready to ping it another drawing, inspirational quote or your bog-standard shopping list.
You can also choose from a genuinely good selection of art, with the firm’s extra “365 Days of Art” service. For a cost, you’ll get a new illustration every day.
The machine uses a special board pen that stays in an inkwell dock so it doesn’t dry out, and its makers promise the refills won’t be as expensive as printer cartridges. For now, it only comes in black.
The firm has almost completed its first round of crowdfunding, and beat its £100,000 target in just two days. They’ve now raised over £120,000 with the help of nearly 700 backers.
A British design studio is behind the invention, and it promises to start delivering the hardware by Christmas.
