The two remaining Glastonbury headliners have never played the festival before, organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed.

It has already been announced that Sir Paul McCartney will perform on the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday night as the festival celebrates its 50th year.

Eavis also told the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 that the other headliners are a man and a woman.

She said: “So happy about this, this is big, this is amazing, having him back.

“It’s really the ultimate way to celebrate our 50 years.”

Asked when she would announce more news about performers, she said: “More are coming soon. I think there might be another one this side of Christmas but realistically most of it is going to be at the beginning of 2020, everyone needs their moment.”

She added: “Interestingly, the other two headliners, it’s their fist time at Glastonbury, we have got one male and one female who are coming.

“There are a couple of clues there. I’m sure people will guess. Don’t start putting them to me, I’m a really bad liar.”

It has already been announced that Diana Ross will perform in the coveted legends slot at the festival  and Eavis said: “We have really been trying to get her for a few years.”

She also spoke of her desire to bring Fleetwood Mac to Worthy Farm, saying: “We have tried and hopefully one day it will happen.

“I really would like to say it will happen, we are trying, we are doing our best and in the future at some point hopefully we will be watching Fleetwood Mac in those fields.”
