Katy Perry has shared a video of herself performing a private gig for a cancer-stricken eight-year-old fan who was too ill to attend one of her concerts.

Grace Moores’ family launched a social media campaign when the youngster, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in April and had to undergo surgery last week, was unable to attend the show in Adelaide, Australia, on Monday.

Her 16-year-old sister, Tiana, tweeted her plight and Perry arrived at the family home to meet the seriously ill youngster.

The Teenage Dream singer performed an acoustic gig for Grace and her family and on Wednesday shared a video to Instagram of her performing Firework.

In the footage, Perry approaches the Moores’ family home and says to the camera: “Today is one of those days when I actually feel like a unicorn. And that’s because I get to use my powers for good and meet someone named Grace, who was not able to come to the show.

“So we figured, since she was not able to come to the show because of her situation, we would bring the show to her.”

She reportedly sang three songs –  Roar, Firework and Chained to the Rhythm.

In the Instagram video, Perry performed her 2010 hit Firework while Grace sang along.

Perry, 33, captioned the video: “The Power Of The Internet #helpGracemeetKatyPerry.”

Following the surprise appearance, Tiana tweeted pictures of the star with the family, along with the caption: “GUYS WE DID IT! @katyperry just visited grace! She’s truely amazing and such a sweet person this was truely amazing!”

Grace’s mother, Marie, told Adelaide paper The Advertiser: “When Katy arrived out the front, Grace was a bit shell-shocked. She was just in awe. The smile on her face was just priceless. She’s definitely walking on cloud nine this morning.

“Katy is the most down-to-earth, genuine person you could meet.”
