Corrie fans worried as homeless Sean is attacked
Coronation Street viewers were worried for Sean Tully after he was attacked and beaten by thugs.
The barman, played by Anthony Cotton, was assaulted and robbed after he was spotted with some cash.
The attack led to him admitting he was homeless and his new friend Carol (Emma-Hartley Miller) introduced him to others in the same situation.
Fans of the ITV soap were upset to see the Corrie favourite sleeping rough, with many joking that Sean could stay with them.
“My heart is broken for Sean,” one person posted on Twitter, while another said: “I’ve got a spare room honey.”
One tweeted: “I really love Sean on Corrie and yes I’m crying for him. hurts me that some people literally have no one to turn to. How awful.”
Another viewer pointed out: “Oh Sean it’s so sad but it’s very true this is exactly how it happens to so many people.
“Well done @antonycotton for covering this.
“Come live with me I’ll look after you till your on your feet again.”
“#Corrie showing how easy it is to become homeless #sean heartbreak,” said another.
However, the plot has not won over everyone, with some viewers suggesting it was not believable and others pointing out that Sean looked rather too well-groomed for someone who was on the streets.
One fan posted: “Sorry #Corrie but the Sean storyline is too unbelievable. With his gob he’d ask Eileen, turn on the smarm, etc. Not buying that he’d live rough.”
“‘Homeless’ Sean is walking around spotlessly clean in clothes that look brand new. Ridiculous,” said another.
Coronation Street continues on ITV.
