Rapper Cardi B has thanked fans for their “overwhelming” support after she revealed she is pregnant with her first child.

The US musician, 25, showed off her bump during a performance on Saturday Night Live before tweeting that she was expecting.

She went on to thank supporters, specifically musicians Rihanna and 50 Cent, on Instagram on Sunday.

“The love I’m receiving is overwhelming! I can’t thank you enough for always finding the time to share your support!! Thank you a million times,” she added.

She performed track Be Careful from her newly released debut album, Invasion Of Privacy, during the show.

Her fiance, rapper Offset from hip-hop trio Migos, tweeted his joy after the announcement.

Sharing a picture of the pair of them together, he wrote in capital letters: “Cardi and I look forward to our next chapter together.”

The couple became engaged in October, after dating since earlier in 2017.

Following her appearance, Cardi B tweeted: “I started winning when the whole world was doubting on me! Think imma lose with my little baby counting on me?”

Cardi B, real name Belcalis Almanzar, has so far won much critical acclaim for Invasion Of Privacy, which was released on Friday after much anticipation.

The record features collaborations with a number of big names in the hip hop and R&B worlds, including Migos, Chance The Rapper, SZA and Kehlani.

Cardi B, also known for featuring on Bruno Mars’s hit track Finesse, has had a meteoric rise to fame over the past year.

She burst on to the music scene in summer 2017 with the release of her debut single Bodak Yellow.

The rapper has already won a handful of music industry accolades in the past year, including five BET Hip Hop Awards, and has been nominated for a Mobo and two Grammys, among others.

She previously worked as a stripper, and later gained fame on social media before appearing as a cast member in US reality TV series Love And Hip Hop: New York.
