Donald Glover’s Lando steals the show in Solo teaser trailer

The full-length teaser trailer for the Han Solo standalone film gives Star Wars fans a first look at Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.

While the footage from Solo: A Star Wars Story also showed off Alden Ehrenreich’s debut as young rebellious pilot Han Solo, fans were more excited about the first glimpse at the Atlanta star.

Glover can be seen sitting in a chair smiling and later flying in the Millennium Falcon with Han Solo, Chewbacca and Emilia Clarke’s Qi’Ra.

In an earlier teaser he is standing wrapped in a large fur coat.

The teaser also features a glimpse of Thandie Newton and Woody Harrelson as a wispy-haired Tobias Beckett.

One fan wrote: “I feel bad for Alden Ehrenreich, the guy playing Han Solo, because that’s Donald Glover movie now.”

Another fan shared a picture of Glover in the fur coat with the caption: “TFW you about to steal a whole movie.”

Another wrote: “Lando about to be fashion goals,” as another said: “All I need. All I care about. @donaldglover as Lando. I want all of that forever.”

Another enthusiast wrote: “INJECT DONALD GLOVER AS LANDO INTO MY VEINS.”

The footage also features Solo saying: “I’ve been running scams on the street since I was 10.

“I was kicked out of the flight academy for having a mind of my own.

“I’m going to be a pilot, the best in the galaxy.”

It follows a shorter teaser for Solo: A Star Wars Story, which was broadcast during the Super Bowl and showed a young Solo getting a hug from a younger Chewbacca.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is released in the UK on May 25.
