Tony Bennett has said he has he is “just starting out” after winning a Grammy at the age of 91.

The US singer won his 19th Grammy with a victory in the traditional pop vocal album category with Tony Bennett Celebrates 90, which was produced by his son Dae.

After Bennett’s triumph at the 60th annual ceremony, he was asked if he has any plans to retire.

“No, I’m just starting out,” he replied to laughter from journalists at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

His first Grammy wins came at the fourth annual show in 1962 for record of the year and best solo vocal performance for I Left My Heart In San Francisco.

In 2001, The New Yorker won a lifetime achievement award.

Bennett’s latest victory came ahead of the televised show, which will be hosted by James Corden from 7.30pm local time, 12.30am on Monday in the UK.
