Love Island’s Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes have said they would not feel comfortable going topless on holiday now, just months after leaving the programme’s glamorous villa.

The show’s champion Cetinay confessed to feeling “the worst I’ve felt”, but that he is still a fan of his “peachy” bottom.

The popular ITV2 programme, which featured a host of young, attractive singletons spending weeks in a Majorcan villa to find love, saw new best friends Cetinay and Hughes often wearing swimwear and showing off their honed physiques.

Since the series concluded in July, the pair have enjoyed a successful few months with their own spin-off TV show and a top 20 chart hit, and they are now set to release a fitness DVD – Chris and Kem: 100% Fit.

But they have said they are lacking in body confidence since the show ended, because their schedules have been too packed for them to visit the gym.

Hughes told the Press Association: “I wouldn’t want to go on holiday just now. If I’m going on holiday in a month’s time, I would make sure I force myself to the gym.”

Cetinay said: “It’s mad, before we went on Love Island, I was in such good shape, the best shape I’ve been in. I was oozing with confidence.

“I’m not saying I’m in bad shape now but it’s the worst I’ve felt – I don’t feel confident to go on holiday and take my top off.

“Even now I wouldn’t do a topless shoot, I’m just not confident with my body.”

He added: “Everyone has their own battle and I’ve never been in a situation like this before, because I could always just go (to the gym), but obviously with the current situation I haven’t been able to go.

“I guess you don’t want to revolve everything around it, but it shows how important it is for yourself to work out, mentally.”

Despite his fitness concerns, Cetinay said his favourite body part “would probably be my bum”.

“I’ve got a really, really peachy bum, it’s literally like a lady’s bum. When I wear tight jeans, honestly it’s stunning.”

Hughes joked that his favourite body part of his own “is probably my willy”.

Cetinay and Hughes said they are “grateful” for the opportunities they have been given since appearing on Love Island, though, and have enjoyed working on their fitness DVD together.

Hughes said: “It’s relatable because we’re not truly fit ourselves at the moment, even if people think we are, so for them to see us struggling too will be more relatable than having a trained professional in the video.”

They said their partners from the show – Cetinay’s girlfriend Amber Davies and Hughes’s girlfriend Olivia Attwood – are “so lucky” because they do not have to exercise to look good.

“I don’t think the girls really need to go to the gym, they’re so fortunate,” Hughes said.

Cetinay added: “They’re so lucky, they’ve both got amazing bodies and they, like, don’t really do anything.

“Sorry girls, we’re not digging you out! But you are very, very lucky.”
