Channel 4’s former chief creative officer Jay Hunt has been hired by Apple.

Hunt, the force behind Channel 4’s acquisition of The Great British Bake Off from the BBC, will take up her role as Creative Director, Europe, Worldwide Video in January.

The appointment comes soon after Apple recruited two former executives from Sony Pictures Television for what is thought to be its push into television and film.

She stepped down from her post in September after almost seven years in the role.

Hunt also previously worked at Channel 5 and the BBC, where she was controller of BBC One.
