Chris and Kem would be willing to give Lethal Bizzle a cut of new track profits

Love Island stars Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes have said they would be willing to pay grime star Lethal Bizzle a percentage of sales after using one of his song phrases in their debut single.

Little Bit Leave It was inspired by raps they created while taking part in the popular reality programme this year and could be on track for a spot in the official charts top five this week.

But they recently came under fire from the UK rapper, who posted a video online pointing out that the song title was similar to the term he coined with 2011 single Leave It Yeah.

He said: “Everyone knows I make up words but when you want to go and do a song and make money from them then I have a problem with that.”

While he said that he did not “need” a financial share in the song, he suggested it was wrong that he had not been given a credit and said to the pair: “We need to have a conversation.”

Asked on BBC Radio 1Xtra if they thought the musician ought to get a percentage of sales, Cetinay said: “That’s not for us to say.

“If it’s the right thing then yeah, but we don’t know. That’s not really our type of forte, we just done the song. We literally wouldn’t be able to give him an answer.

“We didn’t want to react and start beef because we really like him so we kind of just let him say his thing and whatever will happen will happen. We’re not about that.”

He added: “Me and Chris are both amateurs, we just started, we don’t know this industry, we just made a song so stuff like that is not really to do with us.”

Hours earlier, Lethal Bizzle suggested that he could have been involved in the track as he tweeted: “The label asked me if I wanna jump on the Kemp & Ross new single, I declined. I didn’t hear it or know the tilte was #LittleBitLeaveIt.”

He also gave the Love Island pair the wrong names, Kemp and Ross, during his video statement.
