Foo Fighters joined James Corden for a rock and roll sing-along of their greatest hits in the latest edition of the presenter’s Carpool Karaoke.

The US rock band and the chat show host took a detour during their drive, filmed for Corden’s The Late Late Show, stopping at a guitar shop in Los Angeles to put on an impromptu performance of Rick Astley’s hit Never Gonna Give You Up.

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl told Corden: “See, you should be the singer of a band!”

The latest edition of Carpool Karaoke saw the band belt out their hits such as Best Of You, Learn To Fly and All My Life, complete with enthusiastic headbanging and air-drumming from Corden.

Grohl also discussed the painful moment his leg broke while on stage in Sweden in 2015.

“It kind of sucked a little, although it didn’t hurt when it happened,” he said.

“I had adrenaline in me and a big stadium of people, I stopped and saw the edge of the stage and thought, I’ll just jump.

“Then I landed and immediately got up and there was nothing there, it was like, pfft.

“It was only the second song of the set and I felt so bad all those people had come and only seen two songs, so I said to the audience, ‘I’ll go fix this then I’ll be back’.”

Grohl said he learned his leg was broken and his ankle was dislocated, and that despite having his ankle put back in, he wanted to go back out to continue the show.

“This guy holding my ankle said, ‘I have to hold your ankle in place’. I said, ‘You have to come on stage!’. It was the best show I ever had.”
