Former Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies and Line Of Duty creator Jed Mercurio are among those receiving fellowships from the Royal Television Society as it commemorates its 90th anniversary.
Other industry figures to receive the honour include Father Ted and The IT Crowd writer Graham Linehan, Anne Bulford, deputy director-general of the BBC, and John Hardie, chief executive of ITN.
Mercurio, who has kept fans on tenterhooks with his nail-biting series Line Of Duty, is also responsible for Cardiac Arrest and Bodies.
Davies, who revived Doctor Who in 2005, was also behind Queer As Folk, Cucumber, Casanova and Bob & Rose.
Also on the list of nine fellowship recipients are Dan Brooke, Channel 4’s chief marketing and communications officer and diversity champion; Gary Franses, head of live events at Sunset+Vine; Sara Geater, chief operating officer at All3Media Group and Mike Gunton, creative director of the BBC Natural History Unit and Factual at BBC Worldwide.
Theresa Wise, CEO of the Royal Television Society, said: “To mark the Society’s 90th anniversary we thought it was fitting to celebrate the incredible talent working in our industry today – those who have had a huge impact on broadcasting and have helped to drive it forward and define its future.
“All of those selected have done just this and I am truly honoured to be awarding them with a RTS fellowship.”
