Great British Bake Off viewers have been offering a hand to contestants by suggesting messages to hide in their fortune cookies – including messages to bring back former judge Mary Berry.
The Channel 4 contest hopefuls were given the tricky task as their technical challenge in Tuesday’s biscuit episode – the second of the series.

As presenters Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding peeked over the bakers’ shoulders to see how they were getting on with their Chinese delicacies, fans at home could not resist contributing.
Suggesting what fortunes they could fill their cookies with, Grace Serridge wrote: “My sister just said she’d write ‘bring back Mary berry’ in the fortune cookies on bake off.”
