Celebrity Big Brother winner Sarah Harding has set the record straight on her relationship status, hitting back at criticism about her romance with housemate Chad Johnson.

Last to leave the Channel 5 house in Friday night’s live finale, she said had been in a short-term relationship before joining the competition and was now keen to see more of Johnson.

She described the Bachelorette star as her “rock” ever since he consoled her following her argument with Paul Danan and said she could “definitely” see a potential future with him in the outside world.

After she made her tearful exit to a mix of cheers and boos from the crowd, the Girls Aloud star told presenter Emma Willis: “I was in a short-term relationship for a number of weeks.

“(Johnson) became my best friend…he has been my rock; every day feels like a week in there.

“Everything we went through cannot compare with what I had on the outside; it was like we had known each other for weeks and weeks.

“I think we are just going to see what happens, but we are definitely going to see more of each other.”

Harding’s victory came with a £50,000 charity donation prize as well as the coveted title.

Earlier in the show, singer Amelia Lily was named runner up, while Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson left the house in third position.
