Game Of Thrones actress Sophie Turner has said her character Sansa Stark is now “woke”.

Turner told a nearly 7,000-strong crowd at Comic-Con in San Diego on Friday that Sansa does not have a particular distrust for men, she instead trusts no-one.

During the panel which was also attended by Alfie Allen and his puppy Abby, Samwell Tarly actor John Bradley also shared how sick the cast became at being asked about Jon Snow’s supposed death.

Turner said her character has become wise to the world, and described her enlightenment as her becoming “woke”.

As Sansa becomes a major power in the series, Turner said she no longer sees the world of Westeros through “rose-tinted” glasses.

“She sees the reality of the situation. In terms of seeing men in a different light, I think she sees the world in a different light, I don’t think men in particular,” she said.

“She’s woke now guys, she’s really woke.

“She’s cautious, she trusts no-one, whether it be man or woman.

“And I think that’s important when you play the Game Of Thrones.”

The cast were asked which character they would choose not to have been killed in one of the HBO show’s many slayings.

Bradley chose Kit Harington’s Jon Snow because then they would not have had to endure questions “every five minutes” for a year over whether he will return.

“That was a pretty crummy year,” he joked.

Panel host Kristian Nairn, who formerly played Hodor, said after becoming sick of that line of questioning, he “lost it” and said “I don’t care”.

“The next day, in the paper it said, ‘Kristian Nairn hates Kit Harington’. I didn’t say that,” he said.

Gwendoline Christie, Liam Cunningham, Nathalie Emmanuel, John Bradley and Isaac Hempsted Wright were also on the panel.

The show, which will conclude next year, returned with its seventh season on Sunday.
