Blind Date bowed out on an episode that shocked viewers when a contestant gave a rude review of his date.
Gary and Deborah returned to the Channel 5 dating show to tell host Paul O’Grady about how they had got on after being matched on last week’s programme.
Viewers were stunned by Gary’s tactless observation that his date was “no Melanie Sykes”, making reference to the star who provides the Blind Date voiceovers.
Sorry, Gary. You can't choose our @MsMelanieSykes! #BlindDate 💓 pic.twitter.com/XgajW8jP22

Fans of the show feared it might not have been a match made in heaven when they saw how far apart the pair were sitting.
Gary and Deborah, got on hopefully. But that gap in sofa 😕 #blinddate

People hoped that Sykes would manage to make it out of the studio without running into Gary.
Watch out Melaine hope that voice over booth is locked and Gary doesn't find it #Luckyescapegirls #BlindDate

Viewers were not impressed by Gary’s rudeness, especially when a visibly-upset Deborah claimed they had kissed.
This guy is a clown. #blinddate

Fans of the programme were also sad the series had reached its last episode.
@C5BlindDate #BlindDate I'm sad that it's finished. Paul is a terrific host. Let's hope the next series is longer.
