Edgar Wright has said he is considering writing a sequel to Baby Driver after being nudged to do so by the film’s studio.
The British director, who is yet to make a follow-up to any of his movies, also said he has mulled over ideas of where next to take the critically-praised production.

He told the Empire Film Podcast: “The studio have asked me to think about writing a sequel.
“It’s one of the ones that I might do a sequel to because I think there’s somewhere more to go with it in terms of the characters.”
He said he cannot think of anywhere new to take Shaun Of The Dead or The World’s End.
Hot Fuzz is the only other film of his that could “withstand” a sequel, he said, but fears it would lack the “joy” of watching the characters develop as they did in the original.
Wright, 43, said he already has ideas for a sequel to Baby Driver, which saw Ansel Elgort play a fledgling getaway driver who listens to music to battle his tinnitus.
“I sort of had an idea that if I do another one you would subvert his involvement in the crime in a different way so he is not kind of like the apprentice any more,” Wright said.
The film has so far grossed more than 46,000,000 dollars (£36,000,000) worldwide in the week since its UK and US release.
Film review aggregator metacritic gave it a score of 86, meaning it has received “universal acclaim”.
