Great British Bake Off runner-up Ruby Tandoh has called on celebrity chefs to celebrate the “joy of food”.
Ruby, who appeared on series four of the hit baking show, hit out at the “elitist, selfish, fatphobic food world” and accused chefs and writers of exploiting the popularity of superfood for profit.

In a series of posts on Twitter, she slammed Jamie Oliver, Lorraine Pascale, and the Hairy Bikers for “swinging from ‘comfort food’ to ‘superfood’ and back again whenever the price is right”.

She labelled Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge’s book The Dopamine Diet “total bollocks”, adding it is “the height of self-serving, disingenuous ‘makeover’ food books”.
Tom, who presented GBBO spin-off Bake Off: Creme de la Creme for its first series, claimed he lost around 11st after embarking on the diet.
Last year, Ruby released her own recipe book, Flavour: Eat What You Love, which she said was “filled with stories and flavour and inclusive, non-shaming food positive life”.
