Hollyoaks has released its new spring trailer, which shows heartache, tragedy and revelations lying in store for the villagers.

The Channel 4 soap has been building anticipation for its forthcoming storylines with various scenes from the trailer previewed as “Easter eggs” throughout Easter week, and now fans can see the full advert for the coming weeks.

It revealed that one of the key storylines would be a dramatic motorbike crash, although the identity of the speeding rider was obscured by a helmet and the man running towards their motionless body in the road was only seen from behind.

Village bad boy Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) is shown bitterly regretting killing Bart McQueen, but it looks like his own son Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) could be next on his hit list as the truth about Joel’s involvement in Warren’s sister’s death begins to unravel.

There are wedding bells for Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) and Adam Donovan (Jimmy Essex), but it looks unlikely to end in wedded bliss as Adam’s ex Darcy Wilde (Aisling Jarrett-Gavin) refuses to leave the couple alone and is spotted looking smug at their ceremony.

Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) will be in the dock for his possible part in ex Amy Barnes’s murder and looks like he is beginning to suffer a mental breakdown as Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) pleads with him to accept that his memory blackout does not mean that he is guilty.

Meanwhile, Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) will track down his biological mother, although it looks far from being a happy family reunion as she tells him that he was never meant to find her.
