Leeeeeeeeoooooooo: Barcelona share unique tribute to Freddie Mercury
Barcelona have shared a rather bizarre tribute to Freddie Mercury, to mark 27 years since the rock star’s death.
The Catalan club have edited part of the Queen frontman’s iconic performance at Live Aid so that he is now scat singing about Barca’s talismanic forward Lionel Messi.
In a remarkable piece of video editing the remarkable change sees Mercury singing “Leo” to the crowd, before signing off “Barca” instead of “alright” as he did in the real clip from 1985.
It’s fair to say fans were pleased with the invention shown by Barcelona’s Twitter account.
While some even ascribed the term GOAT or “greatest of all time” to the administrator organising the account.
Late great Mercury is back in the spotlight particularly at the moment due to the release of the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody about his career.
Meanwhile Messi and Barcelona play next away at Atletico Madrid on Saturday night in a vital top-of-the-table clash in La Liga.
