St Paul’s marks Twitter milestone by melting hearts with insight into cathedral life

It’s just so lovely and pure.
It’s just so lovely and pure. It’s just so lovely and pure.

St Paul’s Cathedral has celebrated its 10,000th tweet by sharing pictures from its 1,400-year history to offer an insight into cathedral life.

The cathedral has been praised over its posts on the social networking site just being so lovely.

St Paul’s originally asked its 39,900 followers to determine the focus of the thread in a Twitter poll. Cathedral life won with 29% of votes, narrowly beating history which received 28%.

The thread included 21 tweets embracing the cathedral’s different looks and its role at the centre of historic moments as well as its glorious views over London.

But the tweets conclude that “through all of this one thing has remained constant – that we are just a church doing what a church does”.

The thread won plaudits and caused people to tear up for its pureness.

There’s definitely a lot of love for St Paul’s.
