Arsenal’s record signing Alexandre Lacazette has already started repaying his near-£50 million fee with a goal against Sydney in pre-season.
The forward joined Arsenal from Lyon earlier in the summer, and didn’t waste any time impressing the fans after coming off the bench to score in the 2-0 win.
It only took 15 minutes – @LacazetteAlex has his first goal for @Arsenal 😅

That goal will be music to the ears of Arsenal fans – in fact, Lacazette was pretty happy with it himself.
Happy to score my 1st goal with my new Team !! Thanks @alexiwobi.. great assist👌🏾👌🏾 #COYG #SydvARS 🔴 pic.twitter.com/fP32bvTi0i

And he wasn’t the only one admiring the goal – Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann seemed impressed too.

However, while Arsenal fans will be hoping those goals continue when the season gets under way, they weren’t keen on apparently seeing their new forward played on the wing, rather than up front.
Lacazette playing on the wing as Arsene's son Giroud plays in strike yet again. Even in friendly matches Giroud is the main striker 😒

Lacazette on the left wing? I hope this is just a pre-season thing #ArsenalinSydney @Arsenal

Still, he scored from a striker’s position, and that’s not all – Per Mertesacker notched the opener with some sort of overhead kick that surely nobody saw coming.
Great game! Happy for @LacazetteAlex first goal for @Arsenal but after this game he might get some competition up front from me 😉 #COYG pic.twitter.com/7O3fVHQkcY

Who wouldn’t like to see Per up front for Arsene Wenger’s side?
