Safety films on flights. Boring, right? Well, no. Not if you’re flying Air New Zealand.

The airline has just released its latest video guide to keeping passengers safe when flying and while it contains the usual information on how to buckle a seat belt, use an oxygen mask and find the exit in an emergency, there’s so much more.

For starters, the Alice In Wonderland-inspired film features Hollywood stars Cuba Gooding Jr and Katie Holmes.

But the centre of attention is New Zealand itself. Locations including the Southern Alps, the Conway River in Canterbury, Wellington, Cathedral Cove in the Coromandel, and the Auckland Harbour Bridge as the backdrop to aviation safety.

The four-minute film, titled “A Fantastical Journey” is set to a specially recorded version of My Little Corner Of The World by Gin Wigmore.

Air New Zealand’s safety videos have collectively generated more than 108 million views online since the airline started doing things a little differently.

Previous vids have included Anna Faris and Rhys Darby while Elijah Wood featured in a Lord Of The Rings themed film.
