The centre of London isn’t used to Formula One cars buzzing about its streets, but ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the sport took centre stage both visually and audibly.
The unique event saw 19 drivers (Lewis Hamilton being the only one of this year’s drivers not to attend) wowing spectators with their cars, but mainly it was the sounds of some of the world’s fastest vehicles that dominated.

Formula One has street races on its calendar, but could London host a race?
The future of a British race hangs in the balance after Silverstone announced on Tuesday they were activating a break clause in their contract, with the last grand prix at the Northamptonshire track currently set for 2019.
Here’s what a London race could look like from a driver’s perspective.
