Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg and his wife Helena have a new addition to the family.
Rees-Mogg shared the happy news of their new arrival on his Instagram account. The baby boy’s name? Sixtus Dominic Boniface Christopher Rees-Mogg.
Yep, that’s three middle names and a double-barrelled surname.
Sixtus is an unusual name, but not unheard of. It’s the Latin form of a Greek name which means “polished”.
Five different popes have shared this name, the first of them the sixth to serve after Saint Peter. This means it is also possible the name derives from the Latin word for “sixth”.
That’s not the only papal connection. Boniface, Rees Mogg’s baby’s third name, has been the name of eight different popes and a saint.
All five of Sixtus’s siblings, Peter, Mary, Thomas, Anselm and Alfred, can be seen looking adoringly at him in a Facebook post shared by the quirky MP.
Helena and I announce with great joy that we have a baby Sixtus Dominic Boniface Christopher, a brother for Peter, Mary, Thomas, Anselm and Alfred.Posted by Jacob Rees-Mogg on Wednesday, July 5, 2017
Fans of the family posted messages of congratulations and one even posted a way to name your own children in Rees-Mogg style.
My word you could tell he's a Rees-Mogg before you got to the surname! Congrats to the Mrs and Mr Moggster
