It was always going to be a matter of time before somebody came up with the idea of inventing a machine with the ability to concoct a baby.
Students in BA Product Design at the ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands have created the “Par-tu-ri-ent”, a concept which imagines the future of pregnancy.
The Par-tu-ri-ent – which resembles a bigger version of those gooey alien egg toy things – is described as acting like an incubator, allowing parents to plug it into the internet, sit back and watch their little one develop.
Complete with a food dispenser, its creators Jasmijn van der Weide, Jeroen van Kempen and Lovisa Minkiwicz also said they have come up with a container to transport the foetus.
The idea, which won a university competition and was presented at Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) last week, was developed alongside scientists.
websiteThe aim of the project was to imagine “the possibility to grow and design your child in an external pod” and “open the debate between design, technology and ethics”, according to its .
God forbid we give a way for infertile people to have children without a surrogate

It certainly opened a debate, but Twitter stepped in with several logistical challenges.
