We interrupt your borkventure to bring you a bit of history about the day. Launched in 1999 by US-based Pet Sitters International, Take Your Dog To Work Day is now held on one Friday each year.
It aims to promote pup-less colleagues to adopt dogs from shelters and this year’s June 23 event is the 19th annual celebration.
The UK, Australia and the US are among pupticipating countries as the event has gained popularity over the years.
In true 21st-century dedication, the day has an entire Twitter dedicated to it – with several tips for a smooth experience.
