Here's a look back at the Duke of Cambridge's life in pictures as he turns 35
It’s the Duke of Cambridge’s 35th birthday, so here’s a look back at his life in pictures.
From his school days at Eton, to those of an undergraduate bachelor at St Andrews University where he met his future wife, Kate Middleton, the photographs show William in his journey towards being a full-time public servant.
The Duke has come a long way from his younger days. He has:
Completed a gap year in Chile
William also worked on dairy farms, visited Africa and taught South American children as part of his year abroad.
Graduated from university
The young prince graduated from the University of St Andrews with an upper second class honours degree in geography.
He also met Kate Middleton, the future Duchess of Cambridge, while studying in the venerated Scottish institution.
Trained as an Army officer
After university, William enrolled in the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and spent a year in training, before being commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Blues and Royals.
The royal wedding was watched by millions across the world, with many drawn to scenes of the prince driving his bride down London’s Mall in his father’s Aston Martin.
Worked as an air ambulance pilot
William worked for the East Anglian Air Ambulance service, having completed extra training for his civilian helicopter pilot’s licence.
Who could forget the addition of Prince George and Princess Charlotte?
Here’s to many more happy years!
