Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn finished his appearance on BBC1′s The One Show’s by giving the presenters a jar of his home-made jam.

Corbyn told Ore Oduba and Alex Jones there was “something magic” about owning an allotment and growing your own food – including the fruit he turns into jam.

Many people on Twitter seemed to really enjoy watching passionate gardener Corbyn handing over a jar of jam live on air.

Yep, a fair few Twitter users appeared to have strong views over this jam malarkey.

And it seems others couldn’t help but compare Corbyn’s interview with Theresa May’s The One Show appearance alongside her husband Philip earlier this month. ICYMI, when discussing jobs around the house like taking out the bins, May said: “There’s boy jobs and girl jobs.”

Asked during his time The One Show sofa if he and his wife Laura Alvarez divided housework along gender lines, Corbyn simply shook his head.

Earlier in the show, which focused on his personality rather than his politics, the Labour leader also promised he was “giving it everything” to win the General Election.

And he brought a selection of photos showing his childhood and youth to the programme – one photo showed him in reins as a toddler and he joked: “I was a bit free-spirited and I kept climbing out of the pram and running off.”
