The UK’s been having such glorious sunny weather recently, but absolutely no-one is shocked by the fact that the heavens opened as soon as Bank Holiday Monday came around.
This is England after all, so expecting a dry and sunny Bank Holiday Monday would be ludicrous beyond belief.
In fact, most people would have found it weird if today was anything other than grey and rainy.
Is it even a bank holiday Monday if it doesn't rain

In these uncertain times, it’s reassuring to know there are still some things you can always rely on. Like rain on a bank holiday Monday.

Not a british bank holiday without some rain
Thanks for keeping it up, weather— ??? (@turtlemma) May 29, 2017
Is there anything more British than rain on a bank holiday? No doubt BBQs all over the country have been rained off.
Heavy rain on a Bank Holiday, today couldn't be anymore British if it tried ????

Especially as the weather has been so glorious in the last week or so.
What's that you say? It's going be very hot today like it has the past few days – so it can't possibly rain on Bank holiday? ???? pic.twitter.com/yjemMzz6Jk

Luckily, people have managed to find other ways to entertain themselves while it pours outside.
Ah, rain. My sweet vindication for choosing to stay in on a bank holiday and watch Parks and Rec.

And then there are those who’ve had to work through the bank holiday and are feeling slightly smug about the weather.
Nothing pleases me more than seeing rain on a bank holiday when I have to go to work ????. #sorrynotsorry

Chances are that the sun will start shining the second the rest of us get back to work. Classic.
