Former Apprentice star Michelle Dewberry has announced she is standing for Parliament as an independent candidate.
Dewberry, who won the popular BBC show in 2006, will be standing in the Hull West and Hessle constituency.

The constituency was represented by Alan Johnson, who announced he would be stepping down at this election after 20 years as one of Labour’s top politicians.Dewberry wrote on her campaign website: “I was born and bred working class Labour – but like many others, I feel they no longer represent us.“Brexiteers like me are told we have to vote Conservative to secure Brexit – but I feel uncomfortable with too many of their policies.”
She added: “When it comes down to it, are the Tories really on our side? So many of us feel disillusioned with politics, or don’t even vote anymore.“I have decided to do something about all this.”Dewberry, who grew up in the constituency, said she wants the champion the voice of the region in Westminster.
