The UK electorate is bracing for another few weeks of political turmoil after Prime Minister Theresa May rather surprisingly announced a snap general election on June 8.

For the last two-and-a-half years, British leaders have taken us on a roller-coaster journey through the country’s uncertain political landscape.

It all started with the Scottish independence referendum in 2014 which saw Alex Salmond step down and make way for Nicola Sturgeon to become Scotland’s First Minister.
