Tennis star Johanna Konta has made history becoming the first British woman to win the Miami Open.
Konta secured a 6-4 6-3 victory over Caroline Wozniacki – which will see the 25-year-old climb to a career-high seventh in world rankings – and the result has left Britain bursting with pride.

Konta’s win came after a she lofted a lob off the baseline on a championship point, before waiting for instant replay to confirm the call.“My whole team is over there, thank you so much,” she said, after the match, pointing into the crowd. “We’re having a great time working hard and I’m looking forward to continuing to do so”.
