This Whopper Toothpaste has to be an early April Fool's Day prank from Burger King, right??

Because nothing says fresh like meat and mayonnaise.
Because nothing says fresh like meat and mayonnaise. Because nothing says fresh like meat and mayonnaise.

Like a car or perfume advert, toothpaste adverts are instantly recognisable when they come on the TV.

There’s usually some form of scientist (or person in a lab coat at least), someone with more enthusiasm for a toothpaste brand than is logically possible, and some helpful graphics showing why this particular brand of toothpaste is the plaque-buster you need in your life.

They have another thing in common, too: they’re not usually by Burger King.

We’re not sure about you, but our tooth-brushing experience would be made significantly worse by the introduction of cheese, meat, onions, pickles and mayonnaise. Mint is pretty fine by us.

But top marks to Burger King for nailing the format – the only thing missing was a mention of enamel.

We’ve contacted them to check but surely there’s no way this can be real. We’re living in pretty surreal times, but wouldn’t this be a step too far?

With April Fool’s Day just around the corner, it looks like we’re probably safe for now.
