A gunfight broke out inside the crowded Cameo club in Cincinnati early on Sunday morning, leaving one man dead and 15 people injured.
O’Bryan Spikes, 27, was killed in the incident, and the way that his death was reported on one local TV station has really caused a stir.

People are pretty horrified that Local 12 used a mugshot to identify the victim of this tragedy.
@Local12 you had to use a mugshot? Seriously? ??

@Local12 I'm sure this isn't the only picture this man has. Show some respect to him & his family

Many said it makes Spikes look like the attacker and not the victim.
You use a mugshot for a man who was shot and killed… the victim. Not the suspect ?? https://t.co/QtWFDaxrqQ

I thought he was the shooter… why y'all using a mugshot to acknowledge the victim?? https://t.co/bH0SS18zkl

Spike's only known role in this story is as a victim. It is entirely unwarranted and shameful to use his mugshot. https://t.co/xfRnfw7l22

The TV station defended its decision to use the mugshot, saying on Twitter: “This photo was provided by police and was the only photo we had permission for at the time. We can not pull from social media for photos without permission from the content owners. We reached out and they have since provided permission.”Local 12 has since tweeted out alternative pictures of Spikes.

At least five other victims of the shooting remained in hospital on Monday morning. A University of Cincinnati Medical Centre spokeswoman said two were in critical condition and three were stable.
The gunfight broke out after a dispute among several patrons escalated into a shootout, authorities said. Cincinnati police are currently searching for suspects.
