Police are requesting people use “common sense and restraint” when sharing pictures of the attack in Westminster.
At least two people died in an incident which saw a car mow down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before an attacker was shot by police moments after stabbing an officer.
As people shared pictures and videos of the incident, some of them graphic, police issued this warning.
Please use common sense and restraint in circulating pictures and videos of those that have been injured during the incident in #Westminster

That sentiment was echoed by other police forces and members of the public.
Please refrain from sharing pictures of the victims caught up in today's events in #Westminster on Social Media | #DignityAndRespect

Please think before sharing close up pictures of what's going on in Westminster. Afford victims dignity, don't let terror control narrative.

Among the images shared by people on Twitter were some showing bloody casualties of the attack being treated by emergency services.
Three French teenagers on a school visit to London were among those injured on the bridge, while at least one of the people being treated in the palace courtyard was wheeled away on a stretcher with their face covered.
One pedestrian hit by the attacker’s car before he reached Parliament was confirmed dead by a doctor at St Thomas’ Hospital, while others were said to have suffered “catastrophic” injuries.
